Bayland Project
Backyard Upgrade Project in The Heights, Houston
Bayland Project
Budget: $170,000 – $190,000
This backyard transformation in the Heights, Houston, focused on creating a cohesive, functional space around the existing pool while complementing the home’s contemporary style. The original layout felt disjointed with oversized pavers, a pergola, and a fireplace that lacked flow. Our redesign opened the yard, added a covered entertainment area, and introduced a dedicated play zone for the kids.
We installed 3×3 pearl white pavers with seamless turf inlays, giving the yard a clean, modern look that ties beautifully into the home. The highlight is a 14-foot cantilever-style aluminum pergola, the tallest we’ve built to date, spanning 30 by 17 feet and supported by deep footings for strength and independence from the home. Beneath it, a custom outdoor kitchen features white stucco, sleek stainless steel appliances, a kegerator, and a bold backsplash for contrast.
To complete the space, we added a Trex board wall for a TV and soundbar, a large ceiling fan that cools the entire area, and recessed lighting for nighttime enjoyment. The result is a modern, family-friendly backyard designed for entertaining, relaxing, and making the most of poolside living.
