Forest Glen Project
Budget: $95,000 – $105,000
This Memorial-area renovation transformed a cramped builder patio into a functional, year-round outdoor living space. The original patio lacked room for seating or dining, and the surrounding areas felt disconnected and underutilized.
We began by remodeling the existing cedar pergola, adding a bronze-tinted Hercules roof for all-weather protection. An outdoor fan with lighting, new electrical, tongue-and-groove ceiling detail, and wiring for an outdoor-rated TV created a comfortable, alfresco living-room anchor for the space.
The ground plane was redesigned using smooth pearl pavers paired with stabilized pea gravel, giving the courtyard a clean, modern look without loose stone. This transitioned into a comfort turf grid with Capstone pavers arranged in a traditional diamond pattern—elegant, low-maintenance, and complementary to the home’s classic style. Embedded well lights added subtle nighttime illumination without visible fixtures.
A dedicated turf play lawn completed the design, offering a cool, soft space for the kids near the pool. With expanded lounge and dining areas, cohesive walkways, and durable materials throughout, the result is a polished outdoor oasis that blends function, comfort, and year-round usability.
