Courtyard Cover Project in South Houston

Meyerland Project

Budget: $35,000 – $45,000

This Houston courtyard project in the south side focused on creating a shaded, post-free outdoor living space that could be enjoyed year-round without blocking the home’s surrounding windows. The original challenge was the lack of cover and the difficulty of adding support posts in such a visible area.

Our solution was a sleek postless-style roof spanning 30 by 17 feet, engineered with four SkyLift brackets—two on each side—to eliminate the need for middle or rear supports. The IRP insulated roofing panels were chosen for their durability and modern look, finished in a classic brown top with a contrasting black frame. This system mimics the warm feel of tongue-and-groove wood while lasting far longer than traditional patio covers.

To finish the space, we integrated six recessed can lights and two ceiling fans, providing comfort, brightness, and functionality without overwhelming the clean design. The result is an elegant, open courtyard cover that enhances the home’s views while delivering shade, airflow, and a polished contemporary feel.
