Bayland: Pool, Spa and Covered Kitchen in Houston Heights
A long, narrow side yard built out as a complete outdoor living space — a rectangular pool with an attached raised spa, a deck of pavers set into turf, and a covered kitchen at the far end.
The buildable space here is a single narrow strip running between the house and the property line. The pool takes up its full length, the spa steps up beside it, and the entertaining space is gathered under cover at the end of the run, so the yard reads as one continuous composition rather than a leftover margin.
The pool is set tight to the deck on the house side, with the raised spa faced in dark tile and stepping up at the midpoint. Square pavers are laid into artificial turf in a diamond pattern along the length of the house, breaking up what would otherwise be one unbroken hard surface. A painted masonry wall with brick piers closes the yard off from the street, and the covered structure at the end holds the kitchen and a mounted screen.
