Houston Outdoor Kitchen Design and Build, Start to Finish
An outdoor kitchen is plumbing, gas, and electrical work wrapped in stone. Counter heights, the working triangle, and the ventilation are what separate one that gets cooked in from an expensive grill island.
What’s included in the work.
Every project has the same core scope, adapted to the specific property and program.
- 01
Layout & Ergonomics
Counter runs, working heights, seating overhangs, and clearances laid out around how you actually cook and serve.
- 02
Framing & Masonry
Steel or block carcass built and clad in stone, brick, stucco, or tile to match the house.
- 03
Appliances
Grills, side burners, smokers, pizza ovens, refrigeration, and ice makers set into the run with the ventilation each one needs.
- 04
Gas, Water & Power
Gas line, hot and cold water, waste, and dedicated circuits run and connected by licensed trades.
- 05
Counters & Storage
Granite, quartzite, or concrete counters templated and set, with stainless doors, drawers, and cabinets under them.
- 06
Lighting & Cover
Task and ambient lighting over the working surfaces, coordinated with the patio cover or pergola above.

Everything you see.
Everything you don’t.
What separates a landscape that lasts from one that fails in two summers is the work you never see — grade, drainage, soil preparation, and compacted base. On Houston clay, that is most of the job.
And what you do see — the joint lines, the bed edges, the level of a terrace against the house — we hold to the same standard.
Roughly what it costs.
The range below is what work of this kind typically runs in Houston, so you can place yourself in it before you call. It is a starting point, not a quote — every project is scoped to the specific property, program, and material selections.
We confirm a clear investment range in the initial consultation and issue a detailed proposal after the design phase.
- Counter length and layout — a single run, an L, or a U with seating
- Appliances specified, and the ventilation each one needs
- Counter material, and the cladding on the carcass
- How far gas, water, waste, and dedicated circuits have to be run
- Task and ambient lighting, and the cover built over the whole thing
$15,000 – $60,000
Most projects of this type
- At the lower end
- A single counter run with a built-in grill, storage doors, and a clad surround, under a cover already there.
- At the upper end
- An L or U-shaped kitchen with a bar overhang, sink, refrigeration, a smoker or pizza oven, stone counters, and task lighting.
A range, not a quote. Your figure depends on square footage, materials, how much grading and drainage the site needs, and equipment access.

Work that goes with this.
Most projects combine several of these, and doing them together costs less than doing them one at a time.
