Louvered and Aluminum Pergolas for Houston Backyards

Aluminum gives a pergola thin sections, long spans, and a finish that survives Houston humidity without upkeep. Louvered models add the part timber cannot do: you set the roof to the weather instead of accepting whatever the slats give you.

01 — Scope

What’s included in the work.

Every project has the same core scope, adapted to the specific property and program.

  • 01

    Frame & Span

Post and beam sizes selected for the span and the wind load, so the structure stays slim without extra posts in the way.

  • 02

    Roof Options

Fixed slat, adjustable louvered, or solid roof chosen for how much sun and rain the space should take.

  • 03

    Powder-Coat Finish

Factory powder-coated in a colour chosen against the house, with no site painting and no annual maintenance.

  • 04

    Footings & Anchoring

Anchored to new footings or an existing slab on concealed base plates rated for the load.

  • 05

    Integrated Lighting

Low-voltage lighting, fans, and heaters run inside the frame so no cable is left visible.

  • 06

    Screens & Drainage

Side screens where privacy or sun calls for them, and gutters built into the beams so a louvered roof drains away from the seating.

02 — Craft

Everything you see.
Everything you don’t.

What separates a landscape that lasts from one that fails in two summers is the work you never see — grade, drainage, soil preparation, and compacted base. On Houston clay, that is most of the job.

And what you do see — the joint lines, the bed edges, the level of a terrace against the house — we hold to the same standard.

03 — Investment

Roughly what it costs.

The range below is what work of this kind typically runs in Houston, so you can place yourself in it before you call. It is a starting point, not a quote — every project is scoped to the specific property, program, and material selections.

We confirm a clear investment range in the initial consultation and issue a detailed proposal after the design phase.

What moves the number
  • Footprint, span, and the number of posts the design carries
  • Roof type — fixed slat, adjustable louvered, or solid
  • Motorisation, rain sensing, and the controls specified
  • New footings, or anchoring to a slab already there
  • Integrated lighting, fans, heaters, and privacy screens
Typical investment

$14,000 – $55,000

Most projects of this type

$85 – $175per sq ft of covered area
At the lower end
A fixed-slat powder-coated frame over an existing slab, anchored on concealed base plates.
At the upper end
A large motorised louvered roof with rain sensing and integrated gutters, plus side screens, lighting, and heaters run inside the frame.

A range, not a quote. Your figure depends on square footage, materials, how much grading and drainage the site needs, and equipment access.
