Columbia Street: Cedar Privacy Fence and Flagstone in Houston Heights
A Heights backyard rebuilt around privacy — a horizontal cedar fence in place of the old rod iron barrier, a flagstone patio, an outdoor kitchen, artificial turf and limestone rock.
Nestled in Houston’s Heights neighborhood, this backyard transformation by Texas Landscape Group blends privacy, functionality, and style. A new horizontal cedar fence replaces the old rod iron barrier, adding warmth and character while maintaining structural integrity.
For an active family, premium antimicrobial pet turf was installed, serving as a lush, low-maintenance green space and batting cage. Elegant wash lighting along the fence and strategically placed up-lighting enhance the backyard’s ambiance.
We revitalized the cluttered backyard with a limestone-filled flower bed featuring climate-friendly plants. We refinished the entire flagstone patio by thoroughly cleaning it and applying a matte sealer. A standout custom outdoor kitchen includes a polished concrete countertop, Spanish-style tile backsplash, and Blaze propane grill—perfect for entertaining.
Lastly, by removing the old restrictive railings and adding steps, the space became open and inviting, transforming the backyard into a private oasis for years of enjoyment.
