01 — Overview

This backyard landscaping project in Richmond, TX, underwent a complete overhaul. During the consultation, the homeowner requested a design that would be low maintenance, address drainage issues, and be kid-friendly.

Design Approach

As you enter the backyard, you are welcomed by a beautiful black star gravel walkway featuring a large paver inlay. This modern walkway design effectively eliminates the mud problem that was previously present on the side of the home. Further into the backyard, you’ll discover a stunning outdoor relaxation area combining playscape artificial turf with a diamond-patterned paver inlay. This area serves as a retreat for the kids and includes a playground.

Finally, on the opposite side of the home, you will find a free-form walkway that showcases several native tree species along the path. This design helps maintain a low-maintenance environment while achieving a modern aesthetic.
