Houston Putting Green Installation With a True Roll

A backyard green is only worth building if it putts properly. The contours, the base, and the surface are built to roll true and to keep rolling true after a few Houston summers.

01 — Scope

What’s included in the work.

Every project has the same core scope, adapted to the specific property and program.

    Layout & Contouring

    Green shape, size, and break shaped to the space, with the undulation you want to practise on rather than a flat mat.

    Base Construction

    Excavated and compacted aggregate base built to the contour and profile the surface will follow.

  • 03

    Putting Surface

    Short-pile putting turf selected for speed and roll, seamed and anchored to the contour.

  • 04

    Cups & Fringe

    Regulation cups set at the positions the layout is designed around, with a longer fringe collar to hold the edge.

  • 05

    Chipping & Approach

    Approach and chipping areas, bunkers, and rough transitions where the space allows for a short-game area rather than a green alone.

  • 06

    Drainage

    Permeable base and drainage under the green so it plays the day after a storm.
