Short-pile putting turf is selected for speed and roll, then seamed and anchored to the contour. Speed is a specification decision, so we roll samples before committing.

Regulation cups are set at the positions the layout is designed around, with a longer fringe collar to hold the edge. Approach and chipping areas, bunkers, and rough transitions go in where the space allows a short-game area rather than a green alone.

Will a synthetic green actually putt true?
It will if the base is built to a shaped contour and the turf is seamed and anchored to it. A green laid flat over an unshaped base rolls like a mat. The contours and the base compaction are where the money should go.
How fast can a backyard green be?
Short-pile putting turf can be specified across a usable range of green speeds. We roll samples before committing, because a green that is faster than you want to practise on gets used less, not more.
Does a putting green need maintenance?
Brushing to keep the blades upright and the speed consistent, and occasional infill topping. No mowing, no watering, no chemicals. It is materially less work than a real green and less than a lawn.
Can it drain after a Houston storm?
